Making it much easier to drive in unfamiliar cities and countries

AND is delighted to announce the launch of its new Eco Alert Zones product which can be integrated into travel planning and navigation systems to warn drivers when entering congestion or environmental zones.

With advance information on which badge or fee is needed for particular zones, drivers will be able to plan ahead and avoid penalties. Over 440 individual zones are already included across Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.  The data is updated daily, with information both in English and the local language. Where applicable, the price in local currency is also included based on when the fee is paid.  More countries to be  added in the course of the year.

Featuring geometry, name, location, type of zone and acceptable emissions standards, etc, these comprehensive zone overviews will enable car rental, fleet management or touring companies to calculate the cost for each journey and inform customers about the car emission requirements for forthcoming trips.

Thierry Jaccoud, CEO at AND commented: “Congestion and environmental zone charges are being levied in more and more cities and countries in Europe and around the world to help lower pollution levels and combat traffic congestion. Rules, fees and fines vary from country to country, so when travelling across borders, it is important for drivers to be aware before entering either type of zone. Our team has collected and continually updates information on 440+ European zones and is now adding global coverage. We are also extremely pleased to see that a major global tech company has already embraced the high added value of this new content and has become our first client for this data , via our API.”

This authoritative and dynamic data fits perfectly with the AND mission to advance safety and sustainability through location-aware content. It will substantially enable more mobility solution providers to improve the user experience.
