Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain GIS applications to create new spatial/navigation data from various sources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design and implement geodatabases (PostGIS), spatial data models, and data management workflows.
- Write custom geoprocessing scripts and tools using Python and other programming languages.
- Create interactive web maps and applications using for instance PostGIS, Leaflet, Mapbox, ArcGIS.
- Perform data manipulation, transformation, and analysis tasks using GIS software.
- Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in GIS development or a related role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data analysis techniques, and cartographic principles.
- Experience with GIS software platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and PostGIS.
- Knowledge of web development technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs).
- Experience in working with open data such as OpenStreetMap and Overture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
